Dependable Framing for Builders Who Plan to Be Around a While.

San Diego has no shortage of framing contractors. Finding one who’s properly licensed, fully insured, and still doing this after 40 years — that’s a shorter list.

Residential framing built for long-term builder partnerships. New construction, ADUs, additions, and remodels throughout San Diego County.

Who We Are

A Framing Partner, Not Just a Framing Sub.

There’s a difference between a company that shows up to frame your job and a company that’s invested in how your project turns out.

Bill Hall has been framing residential projects in San Diego since 1986. In that time, he’s worked with builders who cut corners and builders who do things right. He chose a long time ago which kind of operation he wanted to run.

That decision shows up in small ways that matter. When a project hits a change mid-build, Bill doesn’t disappear into a change order dispute. He figures out what needs to happen to keep the job moving and does it — sometimes beyond what the original bid required. Not because he has to. Because that’s how he was raised in this trade, and because a good framing partner protects the project, not just the invoice.

He runs a five-man crew, manages every project personally, and has never operated from behind a desk in another city. He knows San Diego — the coastal conditions, the local inspection process, the soils, the neighborhoods, and the specific challenges that come with building here.

Bill isn’t trying to become a large commercial operation. He’s trying to do honest work for builders who value the same thing.

What We Frame

Residential Framing. That’s Our Lane.

New Residential Construction

Full framing from foundation to roof. Single-family homes, custom builds, and production work. This is our primary focus and where we do our strongest work.

ADUs

Accessory dwelling units have their own permitting and structural details, especially in San Diego. We’ve framed enough of them to understand what’s coming at inspection before it gets there.

Additions

Structural additions that tie into existing construction properly. We understand load paths, and we take the time to get the connection right.

Remodels

When walls need to move, the framing work has to be clean and to code. We coordinate with your schedule and work around the realities of an occupied or active site.

How We Work

What a Job Looks Like When We’re On It.

The site stays organized.

Stacked lumber, clean cuts, materials where they belong. Your other trades shouldn’t have to work around someone else’s mess.

Communication is straightforward.

You talk to Bill. Not a dispatcher, not a call center, not a voicemail. He manages every project and he’s reachable.

We’re set up on ProCore.

If your jobs run through ProCore, we already work that way. Schedules, RFIs, daily logs — we fit into your workflow.

We handle our own paperwork.

Insurance certificates, licensing verification, lien releases — whatever your office needs, we keep it current and make it easy to pull.

Credentials

Fully Licensed. Fully Insured. No Gaps.

Builders who’ve been doing this long enough know that a sub’s credentials aren’t just a formality. They’re part of the risk profile of every project.

Contractor’s License #485769 — C-5 Framing Classification, CSLB
General Liability Insurance Current — COI available on request
Workers’ Compensation Every crew member covered
Commercial Vehicle Insurance Current
BIA San Diego Active member
ProCore Certified Subcontractor

Current certificates of insurance are available on request. A jurisdictional business license is provided with every project agreement.

Partnerships

The Best Builder-Sub Relationships Aren’t Built on One Job.

Most builders have a handful of subcontractors they trust enough to call without bidding the job out to five companies. That kind of trust doesn’t come from a website or a sales pitch. It comes from showing up, doing the work well, and handling the inevitable surprises without creating more problems.

We’ve found that the builders we work best with are the ones who are also in this for the long run — companies that care about their reputation, treat their trades fairly, and want partners who take the work as seriously as they do.

If that sounds like how you operate, we should probably talk.

About Bill

40 Years. Same Work Ethic. Same Market.

Bill came up in this trade learning from people he respected — and learning, sometimes the hard way, that not everyone in construction operates with the same values. Early in his career, he watched people he looked up to take shortcuts that cost other people. He also watched guys who lived simply, did the work right, and made sure the customer was taken care of no matter what.

He decided which kind of contractor he wanted to be.

That’s still the version of Bill you get today. He’ll tell you honestly what a job needs. He’ll tell you if something changed and what it’s going to take to address it. And if the situation calls for going beyond what was originally agreed to make sure the project comes out right, he’s done that more than once — even when it cost him.

That’s not a sales pitch. Ask anyone who’s worked with him.

Testimonials

Builders Who Know the Work.

“We’ve used a lot of framing subs over the years. Bill is the guy we call when the schedule is tight and we can’t afford a callback. His crew shows up, the work is clean, and we don’t have to babysit the job.”
— Chuck P., GC · San Diego
“What sets Bill apart is that he actually cares about how the project turns out — not just his piece of it. That’s rare in this business, and it’s why we keep calling him back.”
— Mike R., Project Manager · San Diego GC
